By comparison, the Silverado lineup offers fewer overall configurations and limits some premium engines to narrower portions of the lineup.

The available 3.5-liter EcoBoost® V6 produces 400 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque while supporting a maximum tow rating of up to 13,500 pounds when properly equipped. Ford also continues to lead in payload capability, with certain F-150 configurations capable of hauling up to 2,440 pounds.

Meanwhile, the available PowerBoost™ hybrid combines strong performance with improved efficiency while also enabling Pro Power Onboard™, which transforms the truck into a mobile generator capable of powering tools, appliances, or tailgating equipment. Chevy continues to offer a diesel option, but it does not provide a comparable hybrid system or exportable power capability.

Technology and Utility

Both trucks offer modern towing technologies and advanced camera systems. However, the F-150 separates itself with several exclusive features designed to simplify towing and day-to-day truck use.

The Ford F-150 offers some equipment that isn't available in the Silverado. Available features such as Pro Trailer Backup Assist™, Smart Hitch, Onboard Scales, and Pro Trailer Hitch Assist help reduce stress when hitching or maneuvering a trailer. Ford also offers practical bed innovations like the available Pro Access Tailgate, integrated work surfaces, BoxLink™ cargo management, and available power outlets in the bed.

Inside the cabin, every F-150 trim comes standard with a 12-inch touchscreen and a configurable digital instrument panel. Lower Silverado trims offer smaller displays, requiring buyers to move into higher grades for comparable technology.

Hybrid Capability and Towing Performance

While the Ram 1500 offers its eTorque mild-hybrid system, the Ford F-150 PowerBoost™ is a more advanced full-hybrid configuration that provides impressive efficiency for a full-size pickup while maintaining strong capability. It also unlocks available Pro Power Onboard™, giving drivers access to exportable electricity for job sites, camping, and recreational activities around North Alabama.

The F-150 also maintains an advantage in towing capability. When properly equipped, the F-150 can tow up to 13,500 pounds, while the Ram 1500 tops out at 12,750 pounds. Ford further strengthens its advantage through advanced towing tools like Pro Trailer Backup Assist™, which simplifies reversing with a trailer by allowing drivers to steer using a rotary dial rather than the steering wheel.

Ram provides several useful towing aids as well, but it does not offer onboard payload scales or the intuitive trailer backup technology available in the Ford F-150.

The Ram 1500 is known for its comfortable ride and upscale higher trims, but Ford makes many premium technologies more accessible throughout the F-150 lineup. Every F-150 includes a 12-inch touchscreen and a configurable digital gauge cluster, while larger displays in the Ram lineup are generally reserved for more expensive trims.

Ford also offers several features unavailable in the Ram 1500 lineup, including available Max Recline seats, an Interior Work Surface, Pro Power Onboard™, and BlueCruise hands-free highway driving technology.

Powertrain Variety and Capability

The Ford F-150 offers one of the broadest powertrain lineups in the segment. Ford also gives buyers more technology as standard equipment. Every F-150 includes a 12-inch touchscreen and 12-inch digital instrument panel, while the Tundra starts with a smaller 8-inch display and reserves larger screens for higher trims.

The F-150 further separates itself with exclusive available features like BlueCruise hands-free driving technology, Pro Power Onboard™, Mobile Office functionality, and Pro Trailer Backup Assist™, none of which are currently offered on the Toyota Tundra.
